FAQs
How are you different from a regular pilates class at a gym?
In a gym environment class sizes tend to be about 30+ individuals to one instructor. Â In my studio I teach up to 5 people at a time in a mat class and 4 people in an equipment class. Therefore I have the ability to correct individual's positions and ensure that each client is performing the exercise in the correct way. Â You will receive a more personalised class.
What types of home equipment do you recommend to be able to attend virtual classes?
All you will need is a pilates/yoga mat. Other equipment that may be used during a virtual class but are not essential would be a 9mm pilates ball, a form roller and possibly a resistant band.
Do you teach virtual reformer classes?
Yes, at the moment I am teaching 1-2-1 sessions on the reformer. Â There are 2 types of classes, one is a workout with me and the other is a private session where I watch every move you make and verbally cue corrections
What do I need to wear?
Ideally fitted sportswear. Â This enables me to see what your body is doing during the Pilates moves making it easier to correct positions. Â Footwear is not required as Pilates is conducted barefoot.
Do I need to have done Pilates before?
I teach all abilities, no previous experience of Pilates is required. Â An assessment will be conducted prior to lessons so that I am aware of what you can do and what areas require working on. Â This gives me a good starting position and I work your sessions around my findings from the initial assessment.
What safety precautions are in place due to COVID-19?
The situation is constantly changing.  At the moment I ask clients whether they would like me to wear a mask when I teach them.  Clients are given the option to wear masks and apply alcohol gel on entering the studio. Towels and water are both provided. The Pilates equipment is disinfected before and after each client in line with the government guidelines.
